A GOLD BALL is awarded to each winner of a USTA National Tournament.

Known pros Jimmy Connors & the late Vitas Gerulaitis have only 30 between them!

But, an 84yr. old woman from La Jolla, California has a total of 312 and she won them all but 3 after she turned 40. Her nearest challenger to this fame ,87yr. old Gardnar Mulloy will never catch her. He only has 120!!!

Dorothy 'Dodo' Cheney began her quest for Gold Balls in 1957 when she won her first of 13 consecutive USTA National Hard Court Women's 40 singles titles. At age 62, she won her last 40's+ nationals before dominating the 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+, and the 80+ divisions.

Today, she often plays and beats 30 and 40 yr. olds at singles and even top juniors at her club!

Dodo's advice is to play with 'something on the line' to keep getting better.

The way this coach sees it - - - - SHE SHOULD KNOW !!!!!!
